...Take me out to the Ball Game!

Our little family was able to go to the Texas Rangers baseball game!  This was Melissa's and Jake's first Major League Baseball game and my second. (My first was with my Daddy-O at the Angels when I was just a wee lad!)  I was so excited to take my son to his first baseball game.
They played some crazy team from Canada...lol!
"Dad...Are those ants down there on the field?"

Opening Pitch...

"Mom is excited that crazy Canadian team won, grrr!"

At least there was cool fireworks after the game... and Jake loved every minute of them!

Jake at 8 months and random June moments

Here are some random photos of Jake through the month of June.

Standing a little on his own.

Ready for church! Mom had to hold his hand down  to show off his adorable smile!

"Haha, Mom! I got a white shirt on!...and I'm in the grass...

Playing with the inner tube out of the pool is just as fun!

Jake's first time swimming...

Jake likes to swim at our apartment complex pool.

Nature Walk!

We found a great new place that we love to go walking only a few miles from our place.  It's called Oak Point Nature Reserve.  My brothers family and us had a picnic and then a nature walk.

Jake had lots of fun laughing and playing with his cousins!

Happy First Mother's Day!

Brandon had to work that day.  But when he came home, he took Jake into the other room.  He then came back into the room and both he and Jake each had a bouquet of flowers for me!

The two bouquets looked great together!

It was a great Mother's Day!  I am so lucky to be Jake's mom.
He is such a wonderful boy and a great joy in my life!

Jake is 7 Months!

Jake turned 7 months on May 11.  At this stage he is sitting on his own and starting to scoot around. He just needs to learn to move is arms in crawl motion and he will be all over the place.  For now, he will just lay back and roll around to where he wants to go.  He is also starting to have some teeth come in on the bottom.

Jake got a high chair seat since he is now eating lots of fruits and veggies. He is really eating like a rockstar!

...and he smacks his lips when he gets the good stuff...

...and he found that the box his high chair came in to be great fun!

Here is a video of Jake at the zoo.

Zoo Trip...

Saturday we went to to the zoo. We actually have two zoo's here...one in Dallas and one in Fort Worth. We heard that the Fort Worth Zoo is better than Dallas Zoo, so off to the Fort Worth Zoo we went.

We found that this zoo is really pretty cool!  Easy to navigate and lots of animals to see with fun exhibits. One exhibit we liked a lot is the tigers. They had a white tiger and two malayan tigers. The white tiger was really beautiful!

Jake loved watching the animals. At times we had to keep Jake from jumping in to join in the fun...

Watch out Jake!

Of course, Jake loved the elephants just like his mommy does...

I personally like the big cats.  I think Jake agrees! Sorry, Mom!

Overall, the day was fun and look forward to future zoo trips.  If you would like to see more pictures of our trip, click on the link below.

How it all began....

So now that we have moved away from a lot of family and friends, I decided to put together a blog to show what we are up to here in Texas! But, beware! I am a horrible writer, so please bear with me.

Let me start at the beginning. Back in October we had a beautiful boy named, Jake! It has been so awesome to have him be a part of our family. He has done so well! In early January, my wife's maternity leave was coming to an end and we had to come up with a solution for daycare that we could afford. My brother started to talk to me about opportunities for great jobs in Dallas, Texas. He had been living there for about a year and was doing great. We began to investigate living in Texas and did a lot of fasting and prayer. My brother then called me and said that he could get me on at FedEx as a driver. The more we prayed about it, the more we felt like it was going to be a good move. So, February 14 our family moved to Plano, Texas.

When we got to Texas, I was preparing to begin work with FedEx when I heard about a few other companies that were hiring. One of the companies was a mattress company called Sleep Experts. I read that Sleep Experts was awarded "the best places to work" in the Dallas area. Looking into this company, I was quite excited about what I could do with this company. I was interview and hired in the first part of March. Since I was hired, great things have happened and Melissa has been able to be a stay at home mom. I have now been with Sleep Experts for just about 7 weeks now and love it!

Melissa and Jake have been busy with playing and growing. Melissa has been helping with daycare for my brother's kids as well. We have a few nice parks in the area where they go on walks and enjoy nature and the beautiful weather. On my days off, Melissa and I have enjoyed exploring the area. Plano is nice and we really like the area. We have also found lots of other areas that are really nice like Frisco, Allen, and McKinney. Just about 30 minutes south is Downtown Dallas. Downtown is really fun!

So that just about does it! I hope that you enjoy this blog and we look forward to sharing our adventures with you! Stay tuned for more about our life here in Texas!

Jake's Great Photos..Bad Photos...

Jake is 6 months!  We decided to go to the Dallas Temple grounds and take a few photos of Jake.  We drove about 25-30 minutes to the temple and took some "great photos".  When we got home and looked at them on the computer they were horrible!  I looked back on the camera and found that somehow the setting got set to "custom program" setting so everything was way off the correct settings.  I tried to fix them but did not have much luck.  But other then the poor quality, Jake is really cute!  Just use your imagination to perfect the quality of the photos!  Here are a couple of them and then below is a link to see the rest.

If you have any trouble with the link, please let me know and I will try to correct it. Enjoy!
